Hail-producing storms crossed Colorado in two rounds on June 24, 2026. The National Weather Service logged 20 hail reports inside Red Hawk’s service area that day, the largest a measured 2.75 inches at Fort Morgan in the afternoon. A second storm dropped hail up to 1.75 inches on Berthoud, Brush, Morrison and Littleton in the evening.

By city: Fort Morgan 5 reports, Berthoud 4 reports, Brush 3 reports, Log Lane Village 2 reports, plus reports near Adena School, Morrison, Littleton, Ellicott and Fountain. The Fort Morgan cluster ran 4:09 to 4:31 PM; the evening storm worked Berthoud, Brush, Morrison and Littleton from 7:47 to 10:04 PM. A hail report always names the largest stone an observer found, not the average size that fell across every roof.
Farther northeast the same evening, Logan County storms dropped a measured 3.20-inch stone five miles south of Dailey, hail reported at 2.50 inches near Proctor, and a measured 2.00 inches southwest of Haxtun.
Two reports on this list came just after midnight — 2.50 inch hail 7 miles east of Fountain at 12:05 AM and 1.00 inch hail near Ellicott at 12:03 AM — from the previous evening’s storms crossing into the June 24 calendar day. They belong to a different storm than the afternoon Fort Morgan cluster, so those two dots appear on the map without a matching same-day swath.

Why 2.75-inch hail matters to an asphalt roof

- Check soft metal. Roof vents, gutters, flashing, the mailbox, AC condenser fins. Dents in soft metal date the storm.
- Photograph what you find with your phone. Phone photos carry a timestamp. Do not edit them.
- Get it inspected. Especially if this storm was months ago — that is exactly when bruising starts to surface.
