Accessibility Statement

Red Hawk Roofing is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. We design, build, and maintain redhawkroofing.com with accessibility in mind, and we treat reported barriers as bugs to fix.

Conformance target

We target Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA on all public pages. WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard most US courts and federal agencies reference when evaluating digital accessibility.

We do not currently claim full conformance — some pages and components are still being audited and remediated against the AA criteria. See "Known limitations" below.

What we've done

  • Semantic HTML — single <h1> per page, no skipped heading levels, <main>/<nav>/<footer> landmarks.
  • Skip-to-main-content link visible on keyboard focus (WCAG 2.4.1).
  • Color contrast checked against AA thresholds — body copy ≥ 7:1, interactive elements ≥ 4.5:1.
  • All form inputs labeled and announceable; focus is visible via 2px ring on all controls.
  • prefers-reduced-motion honored: scroll-reveal fades, parallax, and auto-scrolling marquees stop for visitors who request reduced motion.
  • Every image and decorative photo has an alt attribute (decorative images get empty alt per WCAG 1.1.1).
  • Site renders without JavaScript: server-rendered HTML carries all content, and forms degrade to standard POST.

Known limitations

  • Some embedded third-party content (YouTube videos, Google Maps, Cloudflare Turnstile) is governed by those vendors' accessibility — we audit our embed wrappers but cannot guarantee the contents.
  • Auto-scrolling marquee strips (manufacturers, reviews) animate continuously by default. They pause on hover and stop entirely for visitors with reduced-motion preference.
  • A small number of pages are still being audited against AA color contrast in dense data tables. Reports welcome.

Technical specifications

redhawkroofing.com relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ARIA, and SVG. We test against current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari (desktop and iOS), and Edge. We test screen-reader compatibility against VoiceOver (macOS / iOS) and NVDA (Windows).

Enforcement

If you are not satisfied with our response, the United States Department of Justice administers ADA complaints; the Colorado Civil Rights Division administers state complaints under the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act.
